OUR STORY

One dark winter evening, Jon thought that it would be fun to build his own lures. So he did. And he brought them along on a fishing trip. Jon and Elaine really just wanted to see what the lures would look like in the water. Instead, they caught two white marlin. Brewers' Lures was born.

Jon Brewer

Jon practically has saltwater in his veins. His large extended family shared a summer cottage where he spend most of his childhood exploring the Connecticut coastline. Growing up, he became acquainted with the ocean, venturing out in a john boat early on, working his way up to the 30-foot boat he currently fishes. Jon credits his passion for fishing to his father and grandfather. His ability in resin work is credited to a fiberglass apprenticeship with Tommy Martin (T. Martin Yacht Carpentry) while attending college.

Elaine Brewer

At the age of three, Elaine saw her first shark and hasn't blinked since. She has spent a majority of her life learning about the ocean, managing to persuade her parents to visit aquariums whenever they traveled. Elaine learned about fishing when she met Jon and instantly fell in love (with both). Her knowledge of fisheries policy, conservation, and ecology has perpetuated her deep appreciation for the ocean. Elaine thanks her parents for telling her it’s okay to never give up.
